Southern California's City of Youth and Ambition Selects MWH Soft
Advanced Geospatial Modeling Technology

Garden Grove Deploys H2OMAP Water Suite for Improved Capital and Business Planning

Broomfield, Colorado USA, October 1, 2008 — MWH Soft, a leading global provider of environmental and water resources applications software, today announced that the City of Garden Grove, California, has selected MWH Soft’s H2OMAP Water Suite for its comprehensive water facilities master plan. The decision is yet another indication of MWH Soft’s market-leading momentum in advanced geospatial hydraulic infrastructure modeling and management solutions in North America.

Located in the north central area of Orange County, California, less than one mile from Disneyland, seven miles from Knott’s Berry Farm, and nine miles from local beaches, the City of Garden Grove covers nearly 20 square miles and serves a population of about 172,040. It operates and maintains about 360 miles of water lines ranging from 4 to 18 inches in diameter, 4,200 fire hydrants, 34,050 service connections, five reservoir sites with both storage and booster capability, 13 well sites, two pressure regulating stations, and four imported water service connections.

“Effectively managing our water system requires sophisticated analysis and GIS integration capabilities,” said David Entsminger, Project Engineer for the City of Garden Grove Public Works Department. “For us, MWH Soft’s H2OMAP software is the clear choice — its ease of use, intuitive GIS interface, comprehensive modeling and optimization functionality are exceptional. The product’s reputation in the market, its customer satisfaction rate, and the overall strength and technical expertise of the company are also very appealing. We look forward to fully leveraging this superior technology to optimize our capital improvement program and continue to deliver outstanding service to our customers.”

Unlike competing products, H2OMAP’s innovative new network modeling technology addresses every facet of utility infrastructure management and protection — delivering the highest rate of return in the industry. Drawing on the world’s most advanced numerical computation and object-component geospatial technologies, it effortlessly reads GIS datasets; corrects network topology problems and data flaws; extracts pertinent modeling information; and automatically constructs, skeletonizes, loads, calibrates and generates credible network models with astounding speed. Once calibrated models have been established, users can easily generate and simulate various conditions, pinpoint system deficiencies, and quickly determine the most cost-effective design and operational improvements to achieve optimum performance and regulatory compliance.

“Progressive utilities all over the world continue to recognize the benefits of MWH Soft advanced geospatial modeling technology,” said Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D, President and COO of MWH Soft. “H2OMAP’s astounding success is due to a combination of powerful advantages: proven capabilities, rich features set, state-of-the-art optimization and GIS data exchange capabilities, short learning curve and a track record of successful implementations. All these factors set it apart from the competition by enabling users to complete better projects faster than ever before, with a whole new level of interactivity; giving them an unbeatable competitive advantage; and helping them to thrive. We are proud that Garden Grove has made us a partner of choice in its continued pursuit of engineering excellence and environmental stewardship.”
