Broomfield, Colorado USA, June 4, 2008 — MWH Soft President Dr. Paul F. Boulos has been named by the Lebanese American Foundation (LAF) as the recipient of its 2008 Ray R. Irani Pride of Heritage Award. The award will be presented at the organization’s annual Pride of Heritage banquet on Sunday, October 5, at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Southern California.

Established in 2005, the award is the Foundation’s premier accolade. It pays tribute to individuals who best exemplify the distinguishing qualities of Lebanese Americans: love of family and country, generosity of spirit, dedication to the community, excellence in business or profession, and support of the Foundation’s mission. Laureates are selected by the LAF Board of Directors.

The award is named for Dr. Ray R. Irani, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Occidental Petroleum Corporation and Honorary Chairman of LAF Board of Directors, who defined the development of the House of Lebanon, a vital cultural and community center. Its mission is to support Lebanese history and culture while providing state-of-the-art programs and services to enrich the lives of Lebanese and Lebanese Americans and strengthen ties with American society.

Past distinguished honorees include Mr. Mike Ahmar, President of Ahmar Investment Inc., Beverly Hills, CA; Mr. George C. Hage, CEO of Hitron and Chairman of the Holy Spirit University Foundation; and H.E. Ambassador Gilbert R. Chagouri, founder of C & C Group, Inc. and The Chagoury Group in Nigeria.

LAF President Kanan Hamzeh said that Dr. Boulos was chosen for this year’s award because of his “distinguished career, defined by excellent professional and ethical performance, exemplary dedication to the community and the noble water/wastewater industry … his indefatigable efforts in supporting the education of our youth … the unfailing devotion and enormous energy he gives to meeting the needs of others … and his steadfast commitment to and incredible passion for building a better world for the greater good.”

The LAF Board of Directors also recognized Dr. Boulos’s unique talent to bring people together in the service of worthwhile endeavors, saying that he embodied the heart and soul of a caring and giving business executive dedicated to serving others and leaving a lasting legacy for future generations of business and professional leaders. They also expressed appreciation for Dr. Boulos’s skill and creativity as a teacher and mentor of young professionals.
